My Christian Journey

My name is Chantal, I was born in a small village and raised in the city by Christian parents, for which I am incredibly grateful. My parents made faith a central part of our family life, and I grew up in a home where God was known, loved, and served. Alongside my seven siblings, I learned about God through my parents and by regularly attending church.

From a young age, I was deeply involved in church life. I started serving in the children's choir when I was still very young, not fully understanding the weight of what I was doing, but I loved singing. Music became a way for me to connect with God, and it's something that all my siblings shared as well. We were united not only by blood but also by a shared love for serving God in the church.

When conflict and war forced my family to move to another country, we experienced a major life transition. Despite the challenges, my faith remained steady. I continued serving in church, growing more passionate about knowing God and deepening my relationship with Him. Even in difficult times, I felt God's presence guiding me.

However, as my life progressed, especially after getting married and having children, my Christian journey became stagnant. I kept serving in church, involved in activities, thinking that was enough—but it wasn’t. Like so many Christians today, I mistook my involvement in church for spiritual growth. I thought as long as I was active, I was doing what God wanted. I didn’t realize how far I was drifting from a true, personal relationship with Him.

Life got busier, and my time with God became shorter and shorter, without me even noticing it at first. I blamed it on the demands of raising kids and working, thinking it was just part of life. But over time, I saw that I was moving further and further away from God. For the past 30 years, I knew God, but I didn't really care to truly know Him or seek His heart for my life.

I made decisions on my own, without seeking His counsel. I started things without asking for His guidance, went places without asking what He thought, and let people into my life that I shouldn’t have. I ended up living with the consequences of my choices, feeling lost and drained, wasting time on things I shouldn't have been doing.

But God, in His love and mercy, didn’t want to leave me in my ignorance. He called me out, reminding me that I needed Him more than ever. He is now teaching me the way I should go, day by day. I am learning that He is a good Father—patient, loving, and always ready to guide me back to Him.

I’m creating this blog not because I have it all figured out, but because I want to learn with you what God has for us. I believe that God desires for us to draw closer and closer to Him, to live holy lives, and to be complete in Him as He leads us.

It’s never too late to realign our hearts with His. This is a journey of surrender, and I’m here to walk it with you.
